Labels Remaining on Roll Calculator

Estimate whole labels remaining from current roll diameter, core diameter, combined caliper and label pitch. Enter your known values; results update as you type.

Calculated result

Estimated labels remaining1,688
Estimated web remaining173.931 m
Pitch used103 mm
N = floor(π × (203.000² − 76.000²) ÷ (4 × 0.160 × 103.000)) N = 1688
This estimate assumes a uniform wound roll. Measure the roll without compressing it and verify critical inventory against a physical count or production history.

How to use this calculator

Start with the deterministic fixture values already shown, then replace each input with measurements from your job. Use consistent units and review the highlighted assumptions before using the result in purchasing or production.

Formula and method

The tool estimates remaining web length with L = π × (D² − d²) ÷ (4 × t), divides it by label pitch, and rounds down to whole labels.

Worked example

A 203 mm measured roll on a 76 mm core, with 0.16 mm caliper and 103 mm pitch, contains an estimated 1,688 whole labels before operational waste.

How to interpret the result

Use this as a quick inventory estimate for planning. Measure the current outside diameter consistently and compare repeated estimates with actual consumption.

Limitations

Partial rolls are rarely perfect cylinders. Compression, loose winding, telescoping, measurement pressure and uncertain combined caliper can materially change the estimate.
