Formula and method
The calculator converts dimensions to millimetres, calculates required web length as label count × pitch, then rearranges the annular roll-length formula: D = √(d² + 4 × t × L ÷ π).
Worked example
A 76 mm core carrying 1,688 labels at 103 mm pitch with 0.16 mm combined caliper produces an estimated outside diameter of about 203 mm.
How to interpret the result
Use the result to compare a planned roll build with printer capacity, packaging limits or a supplier specification, then allow practical manufacturing tolerance.
Limitations
Real outside diameter varies with liner and adhesive construction, compression, winding tension, telescoping and caliper tolerance. The result is a geometric estimate, not a manufacturing guarantee.
