How to use this calculator
Start with the deterministic fixture values already shown, then replace each input with measurements from your job. Use consistent units and review the highlighted assumptions before using the result in purchasing or production.
Formula and method
The calculator normalizes every dimension to millimetres, applies L = π × (D² − d²) ÷ (4 × t), then divides web length by label pitch (label length plus gap). Waste is applied to the theoretical label count.
Worked example
For a 203 mm roll, 76 mm core, 0.16 mm combined material-and-liner caliper, and 103 mm pitch, the estimate is 173.93 m of web, 1,688 labels before waste, and 1,654 after 2% waste.
How to interpret the result
Use the result for purchasing and rough production planning, then reconcile it against a physically counted supplier roll.
Limitations
Compression, adhesive, liner variation, winding tension, telescoping and the actual roll build can shift yield. Caliper must include every wound layer.
