How to use this calculator
Start with the deterministic fixture values already shown, then replace each input with measurements from your job. Use consistent units and review the highlighted assumptions before using the result in purchasing or production.
Formula and method
Width and height are independently converted at the selected actual resolution using the chosen rounding mode. Landscape swaps the axes before creating ^PW for print width and ^LL for label length.

Worked example
A 100 × 50 mm portrait label on a 12 dots/mm printhead becomes exactly 1,200 × 600 dots, producing ^PW1200 and ^LL600.
How to interpret the result
Use the values in a controlled test format, verify the printer’s actual resolution and media mode, then calibrate with the intended media.
Limitations
^LL applies to continuous media by default; gap or mark media can be sensor-calibrated, and ^LLy,Y explicitly applies it to all media. This is not a renderer, and origins, limits, firmware and configuration still apply.
